The Media Booth

The Lebanese Cinema Club (LCC) was founded in 2015 by group of individuals driven by their passion in the arts and culture fields in general, but in the Lebanese Cinema in specific. The club’s mission is to support the film-making scene in Lebanon and to strengthen ties between this field, its supporters and followers. LCC aspires to form the foundations of non-elitist audience who can interact with this form of art – as opposed to the current mainstream. The Club gives the chance to screen films which did not make its way to the public for several reasons. To wrap up, LCC is an attempt to resist that recent orientation of establishing cinema auditoriums in malls and trying instead to have it back in the city’s streets. Such initiative would make films accessible to all people and help re-create the concept of public space; an element which is widely missing in the country.
